TransGender Michigan Offers Speakers Bureau Training
WHEN: Sunday, August 7, 2005 9:30am until 5:00pm.
The day long session is set to include a mock panel discussion, how to develop your story, and how to answer difficult questions.
Because of the generosity of the Arcus Foundation through a grant to expand TransGender Michigan's educational endeavors, we are immediately in need of additional Speakers Bureau volunteers to educate about transgender identity and issues related to the transgender community.
All particapants are trained to speak about these issues and then get to use their skills in their community and in their personal lives.
TransGender Michigan is committed to representing the diversity in our community; therefore, people of color, people with disabilities, male-to-females, genderqueer individuals, crossdressers, significant others, friends, family members and allies (SOFFAs) are especially encouraged to be involved.
TransGender Michigan's mission states: "Because transgender individuals and significant others, families, friends, and allies (SOFFAs) face discrimination, violence, harassment, and inequality, TransGender Michigan aims to remedy these social injustices and create a better future for all."
